Mission Statement

Our Mission at Rosencomet Project is dedicated to expanding the frontiers of your consideration, promoting creativity, diversity, and spirituality through community. We organize creative events, media, and projects that act as catalysts for positive personal growth.

Our signature event The Starwood Festival, America's Longest Running Transformational Festival, promotes personal transformation (self-realization) and steering the transformation of culture toward sustainability. For 40 years the annual Starwood Festival, a six-day summer camping event held the second week of July and the annual WinterStar Symposium, usually held in February were organized A.C.E. LLC . In January of 2021 these same organizers created a nonprofit organization for future events called Rosencomet Project. Our goal to keep the Starwood and WinterStar fires burning for future generations. We are delighted with our new organization and are excited to share it with you!

At Rosencomet Project we continue to promote the values and community-building ethics that The Starwood Festival has become known for, including a value system that celebrates life, personal growth, social responsibility, healthy living and creative expression. Transformational alludes both to personal transformation (self-realization) and steering the transformation of culture toward sustainability. Some transformational festivals resemble music festivals, but we are distinguished by such features as our world class seminars, workshops, drum circles, ceremonies, installation art and other visual arts, and a Leave No Trace policy. At our events we strive to offer clear discussions of weird and/or difficult topics, to create open-minded mutual learning environments in which consideration tempers passionate commitment. We seek a culture of body-positivity and self-affirmation, in which our all those in our community can feel safe to grow into our hoped-for selves. We offer for your consideration, a community of music and art, freedom and growth, and gatherings of like-minded folks. These things we feel are essential to surviving and thriving in the challenging times we in which we live. To address the new challenges of the pandemic we expanded our events to include virtual components and in 2020 created the first large scale virtual festival with 5 channels of programming for 6 days to meet the needs of our attendees to feel connected to each other during a time of isolation. We also moved our signature WinterStar Symposium to a virtual platform for 2021 and 2022.

Many festivals have copied our template, but we retain the original, unique energy that has drawn people back year after year for more than 40 years, an energy that compels our attendees to exclaim they feel like they have come home when they enter our events, no matter where we hold them. We are a volunteer driven organization, our board and staff are all volunteers, which allows all our funding to be used toward achieving our vision to bring in more minority artists, diverse cultural traditions, performances and exceptional speakers. We ask for your help in this mission because in order to live in a world that is thriving, balanced, peaceful and just we all have to engage in the endeavor to become that possibility. We are reaching out to you, because we recognize you as a Social Architect of the Now who offers a particular gift to the collective feast that is laid before us. We ask your help in bringing in more diversity and culture to our events as we all bring our individual experiences to the table, we can each partake in the nourishment of being the co-authors of a new chapter in the greatest story ever told.
